WKCF-TV 18- Orlando, Fl. Snapshots
TV 18's Buckaroo Club
In 1992 Ranger Bob moved the show to Orlando, Florida and he walked out of the dark airport into a halo of sunshine! The earth shook, the Angels wept, not because it was a miracle..because it was first time Ranger Bob ever needed sunglasses!! The real truth is, at that time, many in the movie industry had assumed Florida would be Hollywood 'east' and production companies were moving in. The Ranger thought he might as well move in too! The Buckaroo Club became an instant success and after only two years on the air we had with over 30,000 club card members. This page is dedicated to them....
Takin' Gooberville to you!
We had a small studio, so the best way to get kids on TV was to take the show to them. Here are just a few of the many Buckaroo Club Card events that you made famous.
Fun Spot- Kids Cup Race
A great supporter and sponsor of Buckaroo Club was Fun Spot on International Drive. Hundreds of club card members and their families crammed in for fun at the arcade game area, then the Go Cart cars track for the Great Kids Cup Race. Winners won some pretty cool trophies, but as usual we had giveaways and T-shirts.
Buckaroo Halloween-Church St. Station
The Buckaroo Club had its own Halloween Party with handouts, T-shirts, plenty of candy and a live show with some of the most talented performers in the Orlando area. Magicians made Ranger Bob appear out of thin air to start the show to the screams of thousands of families who crowded the Church St. area downtown.
Commander Ragtime Meeting & Live Show
Home of the first official Executive Club Card Conference meeting. Hundreds of Buckaroos enjoyed the fun, food, games and a live show that was taped for television with Ranger Bob.
Mystery Fun House Buckaroo Bash
Buckaroo Club members celebrated birthdays with the Wizard, 102 JAMZ morning show hosts and Ranger Bob at Mystery Fun House. Once again kids got their 15 minutes of fame appearing in videotaped segments for the Buckaroo Club TV show.
Fun World Mini Golf Tournament
The 1st Annual Miniature Golf Tournament at Fun World in Sanford, FL. was another action packed event. Hundreds of Buckaroo Club members and many others who came to get signed up for a club card attended. Lots of family fun with Buckaroo Club giveaways. I wish I still had a mini-golf cup from that event!
Silver Spurs Rodeo Kissimmee
Buckaroo Club hosted Silver Spurs Rodeo night where a bunch of boy and girl buckaroos competed in the the harrowing wooly sheep ride. featuring a bunch of buckaroo boys and girls trying to see who could stay on the longest. Each rider was interviewed on camera for the TV show.
On The Road
Additional family events included Buckaroo Baseball Night at Orlando Cubs games, Early New Years Eve for kids, and Wet & Wild waterpark for Ranger Bob's Birthday. The final picture is the Ranger and The Buckaroo Club TV crew celebrating our 100th taping of the show.
