Wrong Way Ryan

Wrong Way (along with a host of other characters on the show) was performed by Sam Ayers who at the time was part of the Wild West show at Universal Studios, Florida. Having both hailed from Youngstown, Ohio, Sam and the Ranger hit it off and his ability to improve anything on the spot, always had the Ranger laughing. This scene was totally ad-libbed and done in one take. While the Ranger was on camera Sam grabbed this garb out of an old trunk- so Ranger Bob didn't even know what he was going to see when he opened the door! Sam left Florida for LA and today is a very successful actor with Grey's Anatomy, Law and Order: LA and many other movies added to his credits.

Lenny and the Goobie Bird

The Ranger only had 2 puppets of his own on the show because their union dues can be very costly. When the show ended the finance person at the station kidnapped Lenny and took him home. Can you believe it? To this day the F.B.I hasn't been able to locate the body. Lenny's mom still weeps every time she watches this segment.

Julia Chili

Gourmet Cook Julia took her name from the city of Chili in upstate New York were she had to leave while serving as a chef at Cracker Barrel after, what authorities called, a rare epidemic of "pot pie poisoning."

Chet & Lester

One of the great treats on the show was a visit from Mr. John Kennedy. John is a puppeteer who has worked with The Jim Henson Company since 1990. Some of his credits include-The Muppets Wizard of Oz, The Country Bears, and Sesame Street. Heres John with creations Chet and Lester.

In Honor and Memory of Mark Priest

Mark was a multi-talented performer and close personal friend of Ranger Bob for many years. He had the gift of being able to lift the spirits of others through his smile and positive demeanor. Mark was called home to be with the Lord a few years ago after suffering a serious injury. We sorely miss the way he would pop up on the show and go into an improv bit 'off the cuff.' These few videos keep him alive in our hearts, and I know he would want it that way!
